values-*/ overrides more than strings.xml: German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian set date_single_line false (bools.xml), Hebrew sets the RTL grid and menu bar, Vietnamese points font_* at the system families because Outfit has no glyphs for its accented letters (fonts.xml, #833), and Chinese and Vietnamese name the lunar months and stems themselves (lunar.xml). docs/workflows/ translation.md is the only page a translator reads, and it named strings.xml and locales_config.xml only. Its new step 2 names the three files with the reason each exists, the rule that a locale file must be one values/ carries, and the ten and twelve items Lunar.java indexes by position. tests/test_translation_recipe_files.py reads the file set from the folders rather than listing it, so a fourth override is covered when it lands; it fails on the old page with exactly bools.xml, fonts.xml and lunar.xml. It also holds every locale file to the default: a name values/<file> does not define is never read, and a lunar list one item short is an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException on a TV running that language and nothing anywhere else.
