Apple clang ships libc++, which differs from libstdc++ where the sources
relied on it:
- std::atomic<std::shared_ptr<T>> is not provided. AtomicSharedPtr is that
type where the library has it and a mutex-guarded pointer with the same
member functions elsewhere; the AGC driver uses it.
- std::atomic_ref<const T> is not provided; the page span reads go through
a non-const reference.
- std::filesystem::file_time_type::clock::to_sys is not provided;
std::chrono::file_clock::to_sys is.
- std::max and std::min do not deduce across the integer types of the
guest range arithmetic, which is spelled with an explicit type.
- <string> and <initializer_list> are included where the sources and tests
use them.
C symbols in Mach-O carry a leading underscore, and its assembler has no
.type or .size directives. APS5_ASM_SYMBOL names a symbol the way the
assembler of the host expects it, APS5_ASM_FUNCTION_END closes a function
(.size on ELF, nothing elsewhere), and APS5_ASM_FUNCTION defines a global
function on macOS.
The fiber stack switch, the signal mask helpers, getcontext and their tests
use them instead of writing the ELF spelling. The assembly they produce on
Linux and Windows is the same as before.
The libraries are x86-64 code that runs under Rosetta 2 on Apple silicon,
so the full build selects x86-64 itself: CMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES defaults to
x86_64, CMake is told the host processor is x86_64 instead of arm64, and
libjpeg-turbo, which is configured by its own CMake run, gets the same
values. Configuring the full build for another architecture fails with an
error.
Apple clang's libc++ needs -fexperimental-library for the C++20 library
features the sources use.
The prx libraries find each other through their run path. dyld does not
know $ORIGIN, so on macOS it is @loader_path.
relinker.exe carried only MinGW's default manifest, so Windows kept MAX_PATH for it even with long paths enabled, and an input under a deep directory failed with 'Cannot open file'. Embed a manifest with longPathAware that keeps asInvoker and the Windows 10 supportedOS entry.
The previous commit pointed the untaken side of a folded branch that
keeps its selection merge at the merge block. That adds an edge from the
header to the merge block: the merge block's phis have no operand for it,
and values from the taken arm no longer dominate the merge block, as
fuzzing with validation on found once the repeated label stopped hiding
it.
For SPIR-V 1.6 the branch is now left as it is, so the control flow and
the untaken arm stay; earlier versions keep naming the taken label twice,
which they allow, and drop the untaken arm as before.

tools/check_test_registration.py invoked bare ninja from PATH, so the audit failed with FileNotFoundError when the configured Ninja lived outside PATH. Read CMAKE_MAKE_PROGRAM from the build directory CMakeCache.txt and fail honestly when it is missing. Adapt the mocked built tests to a configured build and add a regression that runs a real Ninja from a path with spaces outside PATH.
Pipeline specialization replaced every unreachable block with
OpUnreachable. When a loop's continue target became unreachable, either
because the latch exited on a constant condition or because the emitter
had already folded it, that removed the header's only back-edge, and
validation rejects a loop header targeted by no back-edge block.
An unreachable continue target of a live loop header now keeps an
OpBranch to its header, as SPIRV-Tools' dead branch elimination does.
The header's phis keep an operand for it, naming the phi itself, since
the edge is never taken and the continue block's values are gone.
Found by recompiling mutated compute shaders with SPIR-V validation on,
for loops with a literal bound such as s_cmp_lt_u32 with two constants.

.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/performance.yml asks for the title and scene, what is
slow or what changed, the summary lines and traces of APS5_TRACE_FRAMES
captures, the trace digest and optionally the worker's collapsed stacks,
and states the capture protocol: warm caches, the same scene and settings,
no other profiling switch, the same machine and session. The pull request
template and CONTRIBUTING ask a pull request that claims a change in speed
for the summary lines of main and of the change, captured the same way.

The compute dispatch look-ahead noted WRITE_DATA and RELEASE_MEM stores only
as labels, and labels other than 4 or 8 bytes were dropped. A WRITE_DATA that
fills a descriptor or an argument block between two dispatches was invisible,
so the later dispatch was captured ahead with the old bytes. Every such store
now also enters the run's written ranges, which stop the look-ahead before a
dispatch that reads them.
C17 7.22.1.3 and 7.29.4.1.1 interpret NAN(n-char-sequence) as a quiet
NaN. With MinGW-w64, std::strtod, strtof and strtold are mingw-w64's
gdtoa functions, which copy the hex digits into the significand
without the quiet bit, and for long double without the x87 integer
bit: strtod("nan(0x123)") returned the signaling NaN
0x7ff0000000000123 and strtold a pseudo-NaN. A payload whose only set
bit is the implicit or x87 integer bit gave infinity:
strtof("nan(0x800000)"), strtod("nan(0x10000000000000)") and
strtold("nan(0x8000000000000000)") returned +inf. glibc returns quiet
NaNs that keep the payload.
C17 7.12.11.2p2 makes nan("n-char-sequence") equivalent to
strtod("NAN(n-char-sequence)", NULL), and nan and nanf already return
the console's fixed quiet NaNs, ignoring the tag. ParseFloat, which
strtod, strtof, strtold, atof and the wide variants share, now returns
the same values, 0x7ff8000000000000 and 0x7fc00000, negated after a
minus sign, on Windows and Linux. strtold returns the x87 default
quiet NaN, since no console nanl was observed.
SPIR-V 1.6 requires the true and false labels of OpBranchConditional to
differ. Two places produced the same label for both:
- The structured terminator emitter, for a conditional branch whose
targets are the same block, such as s_cbranch_scc0 to the next
instruction. It now emits OpBranch, keeping OpLoopMerge on a loop
header.
- Pipeline specialization, when it folded a branch on a constant and
kept the selection merge because the taken path is not linear. It
wrote the taken label twice; the untaken side now names the
selection's merge block, which the constant condition never takes.
Found by recompiling mutated compute shaders with SPIR-V validation on;
before this, 169 of 20000 were rejected for this rule, and builds
without SPIRV-Tools handed the module to the driver.

sceNetAccept, sceNetGetsockname, sceNetGetpeername, sceNetRecvfrom and
sceNetRecvmsg stored the full address length (16 or 28) even when the
caller's buffer was shorter and only part of the address was copied.
FreeBSD 11.4 stores the copied length, the smaller of the two
(kern_accept4, kern_recvit, kern_getsockname and kern_getpeername in
sys/kern/uipc_syscalls.c), as libkernel's socket calls do since #4295.
sceNetGetsockname on a socket that is neither bound nor connected failed
with EINVAL on Windows, where Winsock reports WSAEINVAL. FreeBSD 11.4
returns the wildcard address with port 0 (in_getsockaddr and
in6_getsockaddr in sys/netinet/in_pcb.c and sys/netinet6/in6_pcb.c), and
Linux already does, so the call now builds that address for the socket's
family.
sceNetEpollWait copied the whole event a title passed to
sceNetEpollControl, so the ident and reserved fields came back as the
title had left them. The ident of a returned event is the id that was
registered and reserved is 0 (shadPS4 net.cpp sceNetEpollWaitImpl,
KytyPS5 network.cpp EpollWait); a title that registers a socket without
filling ident and looks the socket up by it now finds it.
sceNetEpollWait used Linux's EPOLLOUT bit (4) for writability. The SCE
value is 2 (shadPS4 net_types.h ORBIS_NET_EPOLLOUT, KytyPS5 network.cpp
EPOLL_OUT, SharpProspero Socket.cs EpollOut); IN (1), ERR (8) and HUP
(0x10) already match. A socket registered for OUT was never polled for
writability, so the wait ran out its timeout or blocked forever, and an
IN|OUT registration never reported OUT.
sceNetSetsockopt and sceNetGetsockopt answered EOPNOTSUPP for 0x1105 and
0x1106, the SCE send and receive timeouts in microseconds (shadPS4
net_types.h ORBIS_NET_SO_SNDTIMEO/RCVTIMEO, SharpProspero Socket.cs
SoSndTimeo/SoRcvTimeo, KytyPS5 network.cpp). A title that set a receive
timeout this way then blocked in sceNetRecv for good. Both options now
set and read the timeouts that 0x1005 and 0x1006 already do.
Commit 48dcaace7 introduced PrimedSharedMutex and converted every host std::shared_mutex that existed at the time, because winpthreads initializes a static rwlock on first use and a concurrent first lock returns EINVAL, which std::shared_mutex ignores (docs/dev/TechnicalDebt.md:10).
Two host mutexes were added afterward and missed the conversion:
- Recompiler.cpp registrationModule() static mutex (added by baf3437465)
- MultisampleTarget.cpp guardedMutex() static mutex (added by d109f3966f)
Apply the same priming. Recompiler.cpp reuses the PrimedSharedMutex already defined in that translation unit; MultisampleTarget.cpp gets the identical local helper to match the existing inline precedent.
Tested: Windows 11 x64, WinLibs GCC 15.2.0 (matches CI). Compiled Recompiler.cpp.obj and all three MultisampleTarget.cpp.obj targets with the project build flags; check_conventions.py passes.
InitialEntry reads O_DIRECT from the host status flags, and macOS has
no O_DIRECT, so libkernel did not compile there. It is now read only
where the host defines it. GuestGetrlimit iterates over braced lists
without including <initializer_list>, which libc++ requires.
